Orientation Program Held for New Academic Staff

At the beginning of the 2025–2026 Spring Semester, Cyprus International Univeristy (CIU) held an orientation program for newly appointed academic staff. Within the scope of the program, general information was provided regarding the university’s academic processes and administrative practices. During the program, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi shared the university’s mission and vision with the new academic staff, while CIU Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Azimli provided information about the university’s position on international platforms and its activities in the field of sustainability.

As part of the program, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Öztoprak, gave a presentation on the internal correspondence system and official procedures. Director of the Information Technology Center, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çağataylı, addressed issues related to information security and awareness. Software Specialist Anıl Eyupoğlu provided information about the university’s digital systems and outlined the general framework for academic staff on how to use these systems. Lecturer Şahin Coşkun delivered a presentation on the use of the learning management system Moodle, while Director of the Student Development and Counseling Center, Gamze Atay, explained the petition processes carried out through the Student Information System. Student Affairs Director Ömer Dermay also provided information about the functioning of student affairs processes and the role of academic staff within these processes.
