Distance Education Research and Application Center

The main purpose of the CIU Distance Education Research and Application Center (UZEM) is to carry out research and development activities concerning distance education; To provide students with a flexible, accessible, and quality education that meets their needs and enables them to progress at their own pace in associate, undergraduate and graduate level courses to be delivered through the distance education in line with the approval of the University Senate.

In CIU-Distance Education practices, teaching methods that support active learning and student participation; Interactive multimedia tools, discussion forums, virtual simulations and other digital resources are used to facilitate communication and collaboration between students and instructors. Offline courses are designed in a way that allows students to progress interactively at their own pace.

CIU UZEM also cooperates with the CIU Continuing Education Centre in providing education and training to the staff who are currently in the workforce. In this direction, UZEM provides the technological infrastructure for professional development courses, certificate programs and short-term training courses that are designed to help individuals develop their skills and advance in their careers.

• To identify the training needs of public and private institutions and organizations within the scope of distance education, to develop training programs and to ensure their implementation.
• To prepare interactive materials for distance education programs and courses conducted by the University.
• To conduct research and development studies on distance education issues
• To organize scientific meetings on distance education.
